THE ANXIOUS JOURNEY - HAMBURG: Land, Sea and the City

This is a new entry/update on my ongoing investigation "THE ANXIOUS JOURNEY" - a photographic investigation of Architecture and Urban Space in european cities. The project has not yet reached its final contour.  I am on the road ... trying, experimenting, doing research, strarting again  ... that is why some topics looks unconnected. Sometimes the main focus is history and traces of the past, sometimes the forms and structures or certain aspects of social life etc.

A strong philosophical belief behind the project is the feeling that modern cities are replicas of mass production, shrouded with over-consumption and a lack of reflection, even worse they are places of unhappiness, depression and anxiety.

Also recently I have relesed a new website dedicated to architectural photography ( currently under development ):  PhotoVisionProject - Architectural Photography

In these investigations I use mainly various analog cameras and film material. The main focus of this entry are aspects of  urban environments in the city of Hamburg ( in North Germany ). Especialy the polarities between Land and Sea, Old and New. Hamburg is a rapidly changing urban .

Hamburg is Germany's largest port and is named the country's "Gateway to the World" (Tor zur Welt). In terms of TEU throughput, Hamburg is the second-busiest port in Europe (after Rotterdam) and 15th-largest worldwide. In 2014, 9.73 million TEUs (20-foot standard container equivalents) were handled in Hamburg [ Wikipedia ].
